Could Americans Give Up Pills?

(CNN) - -- Some friends and colleagues have been up in arms about an article in Wednesday's New York Times that discussed how exercise may be as effective as medication in treating heart disease and other medical conditions.

Dr. Aaron E. Carroll, professor of pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicineand the director of its Center for Health Policy and Professionalism Research, supports that excerise is just effective as medicine when it comes to treatment of heart disease and other medical conditions.

This doctor has a very old, but possibly true statement, because they say a lot of simple every day remedies can cure or treat serious health conditions, because medicine is all necessary, because medicine has possibilities and not defintelies. Doctors suggest that the patient takes some time pill, in hopes that it will subdue the condition of your health, but they also thrown in the risk, side effects, and the likely-hood of you taking the medicine and you becoming better.

Pills have become a safe haven for Americans, because they believe that if they these pills they will get them feeling well and back on track, but what they are not realizing is that they've becoming dependent on these pills , and that really that they believe that they will not be able to function without them.

I believe it is possible for Americans to give up pills, because once they realize they normal little activities will do them some good just as medicine would, then they would be just fine.

Is It Really Bullying?

I find the topic of bullying to be quite touchy, due to the fact that children are, to me, too sensitive now a days. People are too quick to call bullying, when the real reason for them doing that is that they are just weak willed and lack back bones. Not to go all religious, but some people were put on this Earth simply to be tormentors to others, but it is up to that person to go about it the right way, instead of taking drastic measures, such as harming others or themselves.
Bullying is real is some cases, but other have become victims to bullies only because their parents have willed them to become sensitive, weak, and defenseless against those who put them down. Instead theyb should be teaching their children to stand up against the bullies mentally and not physically.
Bullying only gets so far as the news or some national crisis due to the fact that children are too scared to tell adults, only because the adults around them have not broken down the barriers of comfort between them, therefore the children take it upon themselves to commit these acts of crime.
I'm not saying bullying is not serious, but it being carried way out of proportion; only because of the lack of communication.
Parents/Guardians aren't talking to their children, whether they are the ones getting bullied or they are the bullies. Communication can make a big difference, but it comes after something happens.
It takes some disaster for some change to come about. Laws are being made to protect future victims but if only it hadn't came such a big epidemic, and people took it more serious, like when kids are getting their lunch money taken or something, then it wouldn't have spun out of control to where children are killing others and themselves.
Bullying is real, but it could seize to exist only if we talked, before not after.

Amos Patton: The Man Accused in the Millington Naval Base Shooting

The shooting took place on Thursday, October 24, at 12:47 pm, at the Army National Recruiting Center on Attu Street in Millington, Tennessee. The accused, Patton, had reportedly just been released of his duties, after a complaint was filed against him, by a woman whom he had been seeing, had decided to break things off, and Patton wasn't too fond of her decision, thus resulting in the complaint being filed, and evidently resulting in Patton being fired.

" The complaint filed in US District Court this morning said Patton was asked to come to the Tennessee Army National Guard Recruiting Center Thursday and was “notified that he was being relieved of duty, recommended for reduction in rank and recommended for separation from the active guard reserve because of misconduct.” Courtesy of WREG 3 News

 The shooting at the naval base left the residents of Millington shaken; making them question whether they  should feel safe in the own neighborhood. Lots question how he could've possibly regain access back to the naval base after being relinquished of his duties.

I believe this entire situation could have been avoided but review said complaint with both parties present, but then again reports have surfaced with Patton having been in trouble previously, so maybe the action of releasing him may have been the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak.

Education: Priceless or Purposeless

Education: (noun) the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life.
To put in lament terms, education is used to improve the knowledge of what you may already know. Some may value their education, while others may consider it to be a waste. My mother, father, and every other adult my life is trying to convince me that an education is vital in order for me to succeed, but I've seen several success stories from people who lack education, but then again I'm not that anyone just says "Forget Education" but I'm just trying to get my point across of my spin on education.
I value my education but  not as much as others do today. Some people believe that just because you finish high school and get a college education makes you a better person than someone else; it does not [necessarily] mean that you are going to be any better than a person who has as much as a third grade education.
Education has purpose, but that purpose is being blown way out proportion. People are making a big deal out education, making it seem as if that having an education will make or break your life but in all actually, having an education is to better you, and it suppose to be up to you whether you want to or not.

Abolishing Grading? Umm....

I believe that grading should be established, but then again it shouldn't. My reason for saying that is that grades let the student have an understanding of where there strongest in and where they are weaker, but grades also a form of segregation of the wise and the meek.
Children no that if they pass the test that they'll pass that grade, so all that they have to do it make sure that they no what's on the test instead if learning for personal gain, they are learning just pass the test.
On the other hand, grades are kind of, to me, a depressing manner to loo forward to every nine weeks. Some people know that people are going to be looking at grades to determine whether you're "dumb as bricks" or top of the class material.
I know that when I'm learning I do believe I should be learning what may be useful on standardize tests, but at times I grow old with learning test material, and wonder how will this benefit me in the long run.
I value the fact that we are being graded on other than tests, because I know that if we didn't have grades I wouldn't know where I stand as far as the understanding of the subject. Grade are vital to the learning process to because it's gives you an understanding of where you are in the subject.
Grading in schools really is circumstantial situation. Some children look at grading as a helper in their learning process, while others look at it as depressing system only driven by the hunger for impressing the school, state, and national boards of education.
Me, myself, I look at it as a blessing and a curse, because though I am glad know where I stand I dread the days when I have to go to homeroom and receive the paper of fate.

Let Me Vent

I used to think that everyone hates, or that everyone has a personal goal of making sure that nothing goes "Kayla's Way." But after taking a good look at myself I've come to the conclusion that there's no need for me to always be upset about someone saying this, or someone saying something about me, whether it be directly or indirectly.
My pastor always says that people are going to talk about you until the day you die, so to me it doesn't matter to me with you like me, love me, dislike me, or just flat out hate me. God didn't put me on this Earth to impress or for you make your own fun of me; he put me here to make a difference at serve a more powerful purpose than being someone's laughing stock, cruel joke, or punching bag.
I tend to be very quiet and am only express when I write things down, because to me, it seems that the paper and pen, or pencil, are the only things that can truly understand, and interpret exactly what I mean. The things that go through my head on a daily basis only make sense when I write then down. I believe that the only way I can express in an understanding and complete thought than correctly understood.
Yeah, I might not be the most perfect person, but everyone makes mistakes, and it takes sincerity to admit your faults and flaws, instead of making yourself out to be perfect, or as if you are better than everyone else. No one is better than anyone, and certainly no one is perfect.
It's always better to express yourself instead of holding it all inside. To express yourself gives yourself a source of clearance; a breathe of fresh air, you can say.
